Current Random Favorites
März 18, 2016Hello people on the internet.
I AM BACK. FINALLY.
I am very sorry for my long long absence, but I have a reasonable explanation.
As you know, I have been ill for a few days. What you don't know is, that the illness didn't leave me, no, it stayed for two weeks! So I had to stay in bed, I drank a lot of tea, went to school occasionally just to leave earlier and go to bed again. Last week I started feeling better, but I had to write my fifteen page essay. So since Friday I did nothing but write and work. Sunday night I actually stayed up until 4 am to finish it and make it perfect.
When I handed the essay in on Monday I felt the biggest relief I have ever felt. It was like a big mountain which sat on my back drifted off and I was finally able to stand up straight again. This is probably the worst comparison ever, but it was my first association.
But this is not what this post is supposed to be about. As you probably read in the title I am going to tell you about a few random favorites of mine. There was no way of putting them seperately, so here you go: A confusing mix of different things I enjoyed over the past weeks.
Starting with something normal and relatable. Lately my obsession with Harry Potter regrew which seems to be an annual thing, since I basically had the same thing last year aroung this time and re-read the complete series in January. This year I started buying the books in English, because before I obviously read the German translation.
I do not regret it. I feel like the books are a lot better with the original words.
My next favorite is kind of random, but I love it too much to not share it. It is the website deavita.com. Their description is acutally on point so I'll insert it here:
lifestyle-portal deals with current themes around the house, with beauty- and fashion-trends,
recipes, DIY-products, modern art and more. Here you can find anything - to go from practical
livingtips and interiordesign ideas to healthy eating and recipes to surprise you family with.
On Deacite.com appear useful items everyday. Get inspiration from our page.
[probably the worst translation ever, but I am just going to roll with it...]
This one won't be a surprise for most of you:
Panic! at the Disco.. yes, I may or may not have mentioned the band on twitter already. Brendon Urie is incredible in every way possible, the music is perfect and the lyrics are brilliant. I actually think of making a seperate blog post, just ranting about the albums seperately, so for now, that should be it. And yes, I am aware that Vices & Virtues is missing, I ordered it two days ago, it should be here in a few days.
sorry, i know it is blurry... |
For that I used my "Master Precise Liquid Liner" from Maybelline New York and the "Volcano Explosive Volume" Mascara from Manhattan. They are both super affordable and I think you can get them basically everywhere.
The mascara really seperates my lashes instead of clumping them all together which is the look I am going for and the eyeliner is perfect for a thin line just above the lashline and then a small flick at the end. It takes me about five minutes to do and I love it. Sounds weird, I know, but I enjoy it. It is weird though to wear make up again. For the first days I kept rubbing my eye and smudged the mascara all over my face. I need some time to get used to it again I think.
To be honest: I have no idea about ingredients or what affects you skin in which way (which is bad, I should educate myself about that). I just read on another blog that it contains
"Salicylic acid, which is one of the most efficient antibacterial & exfoliating agents as it helps purify skin deeply, getting rid of excess sebum and dead cells.
Zinc, which helps reducing inflammation.
Clay, which is good for getting rid of extra sebum." - tipsfornaturalbeauty.comSounds great to me. I just know for sure that it works perfectly on my skin and definetely helped reducing redness and spots. And again, it is not expensive at all.
The left one is flavoured with vanilla and the right on with peaches. They are perfect for breakfast and a nice alternative to the plain green tea or green tea with lemon juice.
It gets touched a lot, I put it in a bun or pony tail almost every day, I bleached it, I blow dry it and of course I comb it at least twice every day. Luckily it is hard-wearing, so I don't really get split ends. But recently I bought a shampoo and a conditioner which both worked so good with my hair. It left them all soft and shiny, it was easier to comb through and it stayed like this until I took the next shower.
The left one is the Syoss Renew 7 Complete Hair Shampoo which is supposed to heal frizzed hair, hair breakage, split ends, loss of substance, rebelling hair, knotted hair and make your hair shiny. The right one is the John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Cure. It is supposed to be a deep-penetrating, intense hair mask and repaires broken hair. They are both a bit more pricey, but still in the drugstore price- area. I love them and I feel like they helped my hair a lot.
So that was it. These were my favorites of the past weeks and I have to say: writing them down made me actually really happy. I hope you enjoyed reading as well and that you can relate to some of them.
What have you been up to during march and february?
And what made you happy?
Let me know in the comments.
