My New Room
Februar 14, 2016
Hey people.
A few weeks back my brother moved out because he started studying architecture. As a result of that he left his room empty and I took the opportunity, renovated it and moved in.
After exhausting painting sessions, multiple IKEA visits and furniture lifting my new bedroom is finally (almost) ready. I still need to hang a few pictures and a clock and pot my plant, but I just couldn't wait to show you the result of the hard work.
I decided to separate my room in two different sections, so I am having a office and a sleep area. I figured it would be best to keep life and work separated.
SLEEP AND LIFE
I love everything about this area! It is so cozy, so comfortable and homely. I am really looking forward to the evenings now when it is finally time to put on my PJ's and cuddle into my bed.

The carpet is actually unbelievably soft. Alternatively to my bed I could literally sleep on that! (Please excuse the not matching socks I just couldn't be bothered).
Another thing I saw on tumblr the other day was the idea to put three small shelves on the wall and put decoration on top. I put a plant, candles and books on them and connected those with cute copper fairy lights.
I also have a small balcony now which I absolutely adore. I love getting up in the morning and being able to instantly step out into fresh air.

MY SHELVES
This is the only wall I painted grey. Just to have a bit of contrast in my room. To make it more drastic I placed white shelves in front of the wall. One of them has two doors in front of it to "hide" the unpleasant looking stuff like shoe cartons. The other one is mostly filled with books. Harry Potter, John Green, Twilight, Simon Beckett et cetera et cetera.. I love reading and I love books. Displaying them only seems right to me. There's also school stuff I hid in binders or magazine files to stay in the monochrome-colour-section.
WORK AND OFFICE
What can I say? A simple, organized place to do my homework and other stuff. I added green to the colour-theme here, to really define this as a different area.
So that is it: My new room. I hope you got a good impression of my room and maybe even some inspiration for your own bedroom.
Let me know on the comments down below what you think of my ideas and if you have any recommendations for me to improve/ add something.
Have a good new week,
Paula Charlotte.
