As I told you at the end of my last blog post: I was in Spain, more precisely in Andalusia.
The whole meaning behind this trip was that you have four excursions to the most important cities in Andalusia so you have a brief overview of it. We also had two free days which we could spend doing whatever we want.
I took quite a few pictures, I'd like to share with you and slightly comment them, so you get an idea of what I was doing. But not too waffly as this would otherwise be way too long and probably boring to read. So be prepared for photos and a bit of irrelevant banter.
(Non of them are edited, btw, so they might not look as good as they could. sorry.)
I went to Andalusia with my parents. Our journey was quite exhausting, as we had to get up at 5:30 am, drive 2 hours to the airport, wait there, fly 2 hours to Majorca, wait there, fly 1 hour to Málaga and drive 2 hours by bus to the hotel. We arrived approximately at 5:00 pm, sleepy but excited. Our hotel, Blue Bay Banùs, was the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in.
The hotel is build up like an andalusian village. The hotel rooms are like your own little apartment, there is a small chapel, a village square and it really feels like you are living in a hamlet. Also, everything just looks so aesthetically! The walls are completely white, there are lovely monuments on the floor, palms and flowers almost on every corner.
Day 1. Free Day
The first day was a free day for us. Unfortunately the weather was not as good as we wanted it to be, but when we went to the beach (took about two minutes) it gave everything a kind of rustic and unique appearance which was just as lovely.
Cordoba is well known for its special cathedral. It is basically a huge huge huge Muslim temple (with over 800 columns) and in the middle is a gigantic overwhelming magnificent christian church.
After we visited that we walked through the old town, had some tapas with a spanish guitarist singing for us and enjoyed the good weather.
Day 3. Ronda
Ronda does not only have an impressive bridge over a great canyon which separates the city. It is also known as the origin city of the bullfight. And where ever you are- you have a formidable view over the mountain landscape and the scenery. Simply incredible.
Day 4. Free Day / Marbella
On our free day we decided to visit Marbella, the city next to our hotel. It was a 25 minute bus ride which brought us there.
Marbella is a lot smaller than Ronda, Cordoba or any of the following cities, but it has many small places and corners and lovely alleys. So we perambulated it and afterwards went to the beach again.
Day 5. Sevilla and Spanish Place
Sevilla is overwhelming. After 3 hours of bus ride (!!) we arrived and were overwhelmed by the beauty of this city.
Day 6. Alhambra and Granada
On day six we visited the famous Alhambra. It is so popular for the magnificent engravings on the walls and the huge perfectly maintained garden. We had a tour guide who showed and explained everything for 2 hours straight and it was simply stunning. Everything was so old and beautiful. It literally makes you speechless to see the elegancy and the uniqueness of this place.

After a lot of neck exercise as we were staring at the walls and ceilings for two hours we went to Granada. We did not have too much time to properly visit the city, so we ate and meandered through the old town.
Day 7. Flights Back HomeI don't exactly know why, but on our first flight to Majorca me and my parents were sat in the last row and there was nobody else. So we could choose where ever we want to sit and everyone of us had his own row. How amazing is that?
So, that is it. We were at home at about 3 am and then just fell to bed, because we were all so extremely tired.
Andalusia is juts so lovely and awesome and if you haven't been there yet then I would definitely suggest you to go. Even though the bus rides where kind of annoying sometimes (up to 6 hours of sitting in the bus) but it was worth it every time.
I hope you enjoyed this photographic (is this a word?) adventure and got a brief impression of my holiday and Andalusia.
Enjoy your holidays (and if you have school then enjoy that too) and have a wonderful day.
